Q&A for Parents
1. Where do the expenses go?
"The money that each member puts into the chapter (our chapter dues) goes to the activities that we get out of the chapter. Examples are: sisterhood events, socials/mixers, t-shirts, intermurals, events for our philanthropy, parents day, senior send off, supplies to make banners and other crafts, etc."
2. What is the time commitment?
"The sorority is what you make it! We only have a few mandatory event. Our mandatory events include meetings on Sunday nights, a few recruitment events, and educational seminars with some amazing speakers. But there's so much more you can do on top of that to get a great experience out! Between weekly sisterhood dinners, sporting events, and other non mandatory events we really grow together and become close!"
3. Does school come first?
"AOII truly values and prioritizes education! From study groups to taking classes together, our members constantly encourage each other to succeed academically."
4. What skills have you gotten from holding a leadership position?
"From holding a leadership position, I have learned how important it is to always be on top of your game. I run all of the social media for the chapter, and I know how important it is to be as plugged in and involved as you can. Time management is a huge skill that I have definitely had to learn how to master-- whether it's planning social media posts or planning out the week's events and deadlines, it's always important to remember to have fun and smile to show how happy your leadership position makes you." - Katie Inman
